RENNES, Perancis: Gol penyamaan pemain gantian, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg menyelamatkan Tottenham Hotspur yang seri 2-2 berdepan Rennes dalam saingan baharu Liga Conference Europa awal pagi tadi.

Gol sendiri Loic Bade memberikan Spurs kelebihan di Brittany tetapi Flavien Tait menyamakan kedudukan sebelum Gaetan Laborde meletakkan Rennes di depan pada minit ke-72.

Kelebihan itu segera ditamatkan Hojbjerg dan ia adalah keputusan yang bagus buat skuad kendalian Nuno Espirito Santo selepas mereka tewas 3-0 berdepan Crystal Palace hujung minggu lalu.

“Ia bukanlah sempurna, tapi kami menunjukkan perwatakan yang bagus dan percaya untuk mengubah keputusan selepas dibolosi,” kata Nuno yang menurunkan barisan kedua dalam perlawanan itu.

“Mereka pasukan yang sukar ditentang dan bukan mudah menganalisis permainan – kami ada ramai pemain yang bukan berada di posisi sebenar.”

Ketika sasaran berada di kelompok empat teratas Liga Perdana dan kembali ke Liga Juara-Juara menjadi keutamaan, Spurs tidak sepatutnya mengabaikan kejohanan yang boleh memberikan mereka trofi yang tidak diraih sejak Piala Liga 2008.

Perlawanan berikutnya dalam Kumpulan G ialah berdepan juara Slovenia, Mura, yang tewas 2-0 kepada wakil Belanda, Vitesse Arnhem. – AFP
