There are only a few things that sports fans like debating more than jerseys.
If a team doesn’t have a good jersey, then it’s going to get made fun of until it changes. Now if a team does have a great jersey, then it’s going to be universally praised.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the five NHL teams that have the best jerseys in the league.
1. Montreal Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens have the best home sweater in the league with how crisp it is. The red color hits every single time and the logo is placed perfectly at the center.
Even their road white sweaters are also tremendous. They’ve been clean throughout their history (which is long) and there’s no reason to change them.
2. New York Rangers
We’re adding another “Original Six” sweater to this list and it’s hard to go wrong with the Rangers’ sweaters. Their home blue diagonal jerseys are tremendous and represent the city very well.
Their name also being written with the colors red-and-white is a slam dunk. Much like the Canadiens, their “white” away jerseys are great and stand out every game, especially with the blue and red colors on the shoulders.

3. Pittsburgh Penguins
It may seem weird to see the Penguins up here but they’ve had some of the best jerseys in the league ever since they ditched the “Vegas Gold” in 2016.
Their current home jerseys were originally alternates and thankfully, they made the right decision to make them permanent. They represent the city well with the “Black & Gold” theme and the Penguin logo in the center is beautiful.
Their “white” away jerseys might be even better than their home jerseys. They have just the right amount of black & gold to mix in with the main color.

4. Arizona Coyotes
This is a team that doesn’t have a lot going for them right now, but they do have some outstanding jerseys.
The decision to bring back the “Kachina” jersey full-time is one of the best decisions they’ve ever made. There was no reason to go away from it in the first place they’re back now and that’s all that matters.
Their road “Kachina” jerseys are also pretty sweet, as you can see here:

5. Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings have some of the most iconic jerseys in the league. The red home jersey with the Red Wing in the middle is perfect. Some people may say it’s bland but they’d be wrong.
The road white jersey compliments the home one beautifully and has just enough red on it, along with the Red Wing in the middle.

The 2024 NHL season is entering the second half of its season, with the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins outpacing everyone else so far.
We’ll have to see what kind of uniform matchup we get in the Stanley Cup Finals this season.
