Setback For Congress In Rajasthan As Tribal Leader Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya Joins BJP
In a major setback to the Congress, former Rajasthan cabinet minister and Congress’ tribal leader Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya on Monday joined the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) in the presence of party’s state in-charge Arun Singh and the president of party’s state unit, CP Joshi ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
After joining the BJP, former Congress leader Mahendrajeet Malviya said that he wanted the development of the Vagad region and asserted that only the saffron party can bring progress in the region.
“The only reason for joining the BJP is the development of Vagad region. Only the BJP can do the development. Congress has no vision. If I became an MLA from Congress and then joined the BJP, then how would I remain an MLA from Congress,” Malviya was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
