If you are looking for a nail trend to freshen up your mani regime look no further than the one celebrities seem addicted to.

We’ve seen it on Margot Robbie at a pre-Oscars luncheon recently, and it’s popping up over and over on some of our favourite manicurists’ feeds on social media.

Margot Robbie’s manicurist Betina Goldstein coined the name Micro-French for this new nail trend and it’s as chic as you can get.

Other celebrity nail techs like Harriet Westmoreland have been skillfully painting their celebs’ nails with the tiniest of white tips that don’t sometimes reach the edges, making them look a million times removed from the harsh French tips of yesteryear. What’s interesting over on social media is how different base tones can be used – from very natural and clear to milky white, pale pink or nude tones.

The most flattering to us is a base colour that has a light pinky tone, it just flatters the natural nail beautifully. Try it yourself this spring or go the professional route because this nail trend is going nowhere for the foreseeable.
