Everyone is rooting for New York Rangers forward Filip Chytil.
After trying to work his way back from an upper-body injury sustained back on Nov. 2, the 24-year-old suffered a setback on Jan. 26, his second practice back on the ice.
During a drill with only a few teammates, Chytil needed to be helped off the ice, as it later came out that it was related to his previous injury.
On Sunday, the Rangers announced that Chytil would miss the remainder of the season:
A few hours after the devastating announcement, Chytil shared a message to the Rangers faithful on Instagram:
Chytil had six assists in 10 games this season, and the hope is that taking the rest of the season will allow him to return for the 2024-25 campaign.
While everyone would love to see Chytil back on the ice as soon as possible, his life outside of hockey is more important.
As Chytil said, he’s staying positive, and we look forward to seeing No. 72 back on the ice when he is ready.
