Soham monster Ian Huntley rushed for cancer tests in costly operation - but got all-clear

Evil child-killer Ian Huntley has been given the all-clear after being rushed to hospital to undergo tests for cancer.

The 49-year old fiend, who murdered Soham schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in August 2002 was the subject of a high-security operation, which cost the taxpayer thousands.

The tests came after Huntley complained to prison staff for years that he had the disease – even telling fellow inmates he was terminal.

A source told the Sun that the monster, who is serving a minimum term of 40 years for killing the two 10-year olds, would have refused treatment had he been diagnosed positively.

They said: “Huntley was really worried before his hospital visit this week. He was talking about how karma could have got him – and so were other people who spoke to him.

“He was also complaining about how the prison didn’t seem too concerned about him. He said they were taking ages to get him out for tests.

“The whole thing has been going on for about two years now. And he was causing merry hell about not being seen by a specialist. When he came back he was really relieved and a bit sheepish.”

Before the girls’ bodies were found 10 miles away in a ditch in Lakenheath, Suffolk, two weeks later, Huntley and his girlfriend, Maxine Carr – who was a teaching assistant at their school, gave numerous interviews and even got involved in the search.

Prison

Huntley later denied murder, claiming he had instead invited them into his house to help Holly with a nosebleed. But he was found guilty and later handed his lengthy sentence. He has reportedly been attacked in prison and on one occasion was reportedly scalded by a another lag.

Carr was handed a 42-month prison sentence for perverting the course of justice after she gave him a false alibi.

Two years after the horrific incident their house on College Close in the small Cambridgeshire town where the murders took place was demolished.
