It’s Leaving Cert season and it’s one of the most stressful times of young people’s lives in Ireland.
It doesn’t matter how many times you’re told ‘Don’t worry, it’ll be fine’, there’s no way you’re not stressed about it and lying awake at night.
Today’s top videos
We’ve all been there and we all know the pressures that come with it.
Trying to remain calm will help you immensely during your exams, so here are some tips to help with your Leaving Cert stress
1. Get plenty of sleep

We know that it’s hard to sleep during the Leaving Cert your mind is racing and you want to stay up all night cramming.
But sleep is one of the best ways to keep those nerves at bay. At this point it’s more important than trying to learn off those notes.
So put your notes away and need to bed for a full eight hours of sleep!
2. Eat well!

Yes, we know that this is easier said than done.
But your body needs real food to keep you going throughout the exam period. Be aware of what fuels your period.
This way you can avoid any sugar spikes or carb crashes!
3. Put down the caffeine

Okay, you’ve ignored number one and have spent all night cramming your Chemistry notes and you’re running on sheer will power and Red Bulls.
Look, caffeine already makes you body jittery so adding your nerves into the mix are is unhelpful!
So, get your rest in and you won’t need to run on energy drinks.
4. Take a good luck charm with you

This sounds ridiculous and is one hundred per cent a placebo effect.
But if you have a good luck charm then take it with you because it will calm you down knowing it’s there providing the support you need.
It will make you feel calm, trust us!
5. Keep a positive attitude and tell yourself you got this

Look you’ve spent all year studying for this, you have this! There is no more that you can do.
Keep telling yourself that you are ready for this and you will pass these exams. When you’re in the exam hall you can’t study anymore.
So you might as well keep a cheery attitude.
6. Go for your favourite question first

When you get your exam booklet, read it and find your favourite section or the part you find easiest.
This will give you a confidence boost at the beginning because you feel like you know everything.
Then when you get to the trickier parts, you’ll be ready to tackle them head on!
