Shirley Ballas is reportedly set to marry for a third time as her boyfriend Danny Taylor has purchased an engagement ring.
Friends of the Strictly Come Dancing judge are hoping the happy couple will make an announcement in the New Year.
According to The Sun, Danny, 48, bought the rock earlier this year and now Shirley, 61, is waiting for him to pop the question.
A source said: ‘Shirley and Danny are blissfully loved-up — almost irritatingly so! They actually went ring shopping earlier this year and, after Shirley spotted one she liked, Danny went and bought it.
‘Shirley is quite traditional, and definitely wants Danny to get down on one knee and do the proposing — after asking her mum for her blessing first. But Danny obviously wants it to be a surprise.
‘And also, understandably, he doesn’t want to feel pressurised into anything before he’s ready. Neither of them are in any hurry and they’re really happy taking things day by day.’
The insider added that their impending engagement is a question of when, not if.
MailOnline has contacted representatives of Shirley Ballas for comment.
Shirley and Danny met back in 2018 during panto rehearsals for Jack and the Beanstalk at the Liverpool Empire.
Speaking previously to Prima magazine, Shirley described her partner as ‘The One’ and admitted she thinks he might be nervous to propose.
She said: ‘He’s very kind and very caring — he’s always there for me.
‘I hope he’ll propose one day but he’s never married and I think he’s a bit nervous about it, so we’ll see. Come on, Danny!’
The pro dancer was previously married to former ballroom star Sammy Stopford from 1980 to 1984.
She then went on to marry fellow dancer Corky Ballas in 1985 with the couple splitting up in 2007 after 22 years together.
Shirley and Corky are parents to son Mark, 35, who is a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars in the US.
Shirley revealed at the end of 2020 that she wants to get engaged to boyfriend Danny in 2021, and didn’t rule out proposing herself.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline about the prospect of tying the knot, Shirley said: ‘Maybe next year is on the cards, possibly. Everything with Danny is romantic.
‘When he did my 60th he thought about things I’d never think about, he’s very creative, loving and caring.
‘We’re very 50/50 so women have equality like men so if I cook, he’ll wash up, he’ll vacuum and I’ll clean, he’s that type of person – he’s definitely a keeper for sure.’
On the subject of equality, asked if Shirley would consider proposing to Danny, she added: ‘I don’t know, we have mentioned it once or twice.’
