Saoírse Ruane's mum asks public to pray for her little girl in latest update

She was the little girl who won so many hearts on the Late Late Toy Show in but now Saoírse’s mum Roseanna has asked for people to pray for her daughter.

Towards the end of 2023, the family received some devastating news when doctors revealed that Saoirse had a third tumour.

After revealing to those online the latest update on their daughter’s health, the family has been absent from social media until February of this year.

In an update, Saoírse’s mum posted a picture of a quote which read: ‘When we have each other, we have everything.’

Below Roseanna said: ‘Our absence has been felt and we are so grateful to each of you for checking in on us and for all the love you send our way. We really miss our daily engagement with you all, but we’ll be back when the time is right.’

She continued: ‘Amongst the chaos of the world and all the sadness that’s out there, we are focusing on what’s inside out four walls and hugging each other tight. We ask again for your prayers for Saoírse. Chat to you all again soon.’

Towards the end of last year, the family had been experiencing several ‘highs and lows’. They surprised Saoirse and her sister Farrah Rose with a trip to London and celebrated the release of Saoírse’s charity single Sing for Saoírse but unfortunately, they received some ‘devastating’ news at Saoirse’s review.

Her mum told followers in November: ‘It’s been three months since her last review,’ she explained, ‘and while her tumour in her left lung is relatively static, yesterday’s CT scan shows her cancer has now spread to her other lung.’

Roseanna continued: ‘This came as a huge shock to us as Saoírse has been doing so well. In just six more days it will be 4 years since her journey with cancer began. Four diagnosis in four years is very hard to take. While we are still trying to process this new information, the show must go on.’

Saoírse will certainly be in our thoughts and prayers.
