‘Shade that comes from a tree that bears no fruit doesn’t matter’ Mokwena to PSL coaches
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has finally hit back at some of the Premier Soccer League(PSL) coaches.
The 36-year-old mentor took a lot a jabs from some coaches this season, most notably from TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic.
The German coach said Mokwena failed to give credit to Galaxy after the Mpumalanga based team knocked out Downs out of the Carling Knockout Cup last 16.
SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt said in an interview that he ‘hated’ coaches who hugged their players and many felt the 59-year-old mentor was taking a jab at Rulani.
Mokwena responds to critics, but restrains himself
Mokwena was recently asked if he though coaches were taking jabs at him.
“Ja, they do. I don’t respond, it’s part of the territory I suppose but someone said something that is very interesting to me the other day,” Mokwena said.
“In fact, a friend of mine, because they were more emotional about the jabs than I was. And I pushed it aside and he said ‘Yeah, it’s true because shade that comes from a tree that bears no fruit doesn’t matter’ … and believe me, no, actually no,” he said to the media.
Mokwena’s men are back in action on Sunday as they play in Egypt’s Pyramids in a Caf Champions League match.
