Severe weather threat potential for Southern Ontario
Ontario has the potential to see some thunderstorms on Tuesday stretching into the overnight. Now we do have a severe possibility for extreme southwestern Ontario, encompassing Windsor, Essex County up to Chatham. As you head further eastward, that’s a very diminishes. But still anticipate some thunderstorms, small hail and pretty intense wind gusts. There’s that line of storms making their way through first. A first round. Second round is the overnight hours and it’s going to span pretty much all of southern Ontario. You might be waking up to a rumble of Thunder or a flash of lightning overall, though. Throughout the week we’ll see generally the most rain around the lakes, from Berry down the 400th Corridor down to Toronto, stretching eastward. But take a look at the thunderstorm energy. It’s peeling off from a low pressure system that’s bringing about tornado warnings in the States along Tornado Alley. Now we have to see how this energy transpires into Canada as it crosses over the Great Lakes. It tends to lose a little bit of that energy, but we’ll see how that plans out on Tuesday and another look at some of the hail swaths that we could potentially see coming on Tuesday night.
