SEVENTEEN has once again made history on the Japanese music charts, claiming top positions with their latest best album ’17 IS RIGHT HERE’.
As of May 9th, ’17 IS RIGHT HERE’ soared to the number one spot on the Oricon weekly combined album ranking for the week spanning April 29th to May 5th. This achievement marked their 12th time at the top, setting a new record for foreign artists. The album, released on April 29th, has been a stellar performer, selling over 330,000 CD units and accumulating a total of 344,000 points, the highest by a foreign artist this year.
Not stopping there, ’17 IS RIGHT HERE’ also debuted at number one on Billboard Japan’s ‘Hot Albums’ chart and ‘Top Album Sales’ chart for the same week, with an impressive first-week sale of over 296,000 copies.
Adding to their recent successes, SEVENTEEN’s lead single from the album, ‘MAESTRO’, quickly made waves, entering Billboard’s ‘Global 200’ and ‘Global (Excl. US)’ charts within four days of its release, based on strong streaming and download numbers.
On May 8th, SEVENTEEN clinched another victory with ‘MAESTRO’ on ‘Show! Champion’, and they’re gearing up to connect with fans worldwide through upcoming concerts in Japan. They are set to perform at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka on May 18th and 19th, followed by shows at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa on May 25th and 26th as part of their ‘SEVENTEEN TOUR ‘FOLLOW’ AGAIN’.
