Car with eight foreigners collides with lorry on NSE, three killed
IPOH: Three foreign workers have been killed in an accident between a car and a lorry on the North-South Expressway near Kampar.
Kampar OCPD Supt Mohamad Nazri Daud said the incident happened at KM306.1 of the expressway at 1.49pm on Wednesday (April 10).
“There were eight Bangladeshis in the car, all farmworkers in Cameron Highlands.
“The deceased have been identified as Abdullah Mohammad, Ali Askar and MD Sohel Miah.
“Four others, including the 32-year-old car driver escaped unhurt,” he said.
Supt Mohamad Nazri said the 35-year-old lorry driver, a local, did not sustain any injuries.
He said the car was heading to Kuala Lumpur from Cameron Highlands, when it had a tyre puncture and the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the guardrail.
“A lorry coming from behind was unable to stop on time and hit the car.
“All three victims died on the spot,” he said.
The injured passenger was taken to the Tapah Hospital.
