After a wild finish at the rain-soaked WM Phoenix Open, the PGA Tour is heading to Los Angeles, Calif., for the 2024 Genesis Invitational – which is once again hosted by Tiger Woods. The 1st round from Riviera Country Club begins on Thursday, featuring a field of only 70 players in this Signature Event.
Below, we look at the 2024 Genesis Invitational odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions.
Many of the top players in the world will be in the field for this marquee event, including the favorite to win, Scottie Scheffler (+650). Rory McIlroy is also in the field after skipping the WM Phoenix Open, coming in with +900 odds to win. Last year’s champion, Jon Rahm, is not in the field as he joined LIV Golf. Woods, the tournament host, is +10000 to win. This is his first PGA Tour event since the Hero World Challenge in December.
Riviera Country Club is a par 71 and plays at 7,322 yards and is always a major test for even the world’s best. It’s narrow, requiring accuracy off the tee, and it’s also long, which favors bigger hitters. This is the 60th time Riviera will host the Genesis.
Unlike other signature events, the Genesis will feature a 36-hole cut down to 50 players and ties, as well as those within 10 shots of the lead.

Adam Scott (+3300)
Scott has quietly been playing some very good golf lately, finishing T-7 at the Dubai Desert Classic, T-20 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T-8 last week at the WM Phoenix Open in his first 3 starts of 2024. Now he heads to Riviera where he’s made the cut in 14 of 15 attempts, won it twice and has 7 top-10 finishes. He won in 2020 and he’s had two other top-10s since 2019.
Cameron Young (+3300)
I was staying away from Young in his 1st couple of starts this year because he wasn’t in great form but now’s the time to target him. Fresh off a T-8 in Phoenix, he heads to the Genesis where he’s finished T-2 and T-20 in 2 career starts. He has the length to win here and is beginning to play well again.
Genesis Invitational picks – Contenders
Will Zalatoris (+4000)
Zalatoris has gotten better each week since returning from injury, going from an MC to T-34 to T-13 most recently at Torrey Pines. He nearly won here last year, finishing 4th after coming in 15th and 26th in the previous 2 years. Zalatoris’ odds are only going to get shorter as the season goes on.
Nicolai Hojgaard (+5000)
Hojgaard has never played the Genesis, but he’s red hot. Since winning the DP World Tour Championship in November, he hasn’t finished worse than T-31 in any of his last 4 worldwide starts, which includes 2 top-10s. He finished 1 shot off the lead at the Farmers Insurance Open, coming alone in 2nd place.
Genesis Invitational picks – Long shots
Cam Davis (+8000)
Davis has been a bit up and down this year, missing 1 cut, but also tying for 20th at Pebble Beach. In 4 career starts here, he’s missed the cut twice and come in T-43 and T-48, but his length off the tee and around the course will give him an advantage – so long as he doesn’t spray it all over the yard.
Matt Kuchar (+20000)
Kuchar never skips this event, playing it 17 times in his career. He’s only missed the cut twice and finished in the top 10 three times, with 7 total top-25 finishes. He finished alone in 8th last year and T-2 in 2020, so it’s not as if his success at Riviera only came early in his career.
