Ohio State dance team to represent USA at cheer world championships
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The accomplished, national-champion winning Ohio State dance team will be vying for a world championship soon.
The Buckeyes jazz and pom routines were selected by USA Cheer to represent them at the International Cheer Union World Championships in Orlando. The world championships will take place from April 24-26.

“This is certainly an exciting accomplishment for our team and a first for our program,” said Melissa McGhee, Ohio State’s spirit program director and head dance coach. “We’re thrilled to be able to represent the United States on the world level, which is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our student-athletes. We are looking forward to interacting with the teams from other countries and embracing the international experience and competition!”
Ohio State’s dance team has had a dominant run have at least one routine win a national championship in six of the last seven years. In January, the Buckeyes were in Orlando and won the jazz national title and finished second in the pom routine.
