The Mill pub in Basford could be 'history' if trade doesn't pick up

A pub in New Basford could be ‘history’ if sales don’t pick up, a spokesperson has warned. The freehold of The Mill, located in Bagnall Road, has been put on sale for £350,000 following a period of difficult trading

The pub occupies a detached two storey brick building and includes a front bar which can seat up to 30 people, as well as a bar and restaurant at the back of the building, which can accommodate 40 people. Four double bedrooms and one single bedroom are also found on the top floor.

Nottinghamshire Live contacted the pub about the listing, and a spokesperson said that, although the pub could potentially close, it continues to trade for now. He said: “The Mill will be history but, if we get more sales, it could be saved.

Do you still use cash in shops, cafés and restaurants?

“We’re still open and everyone is welcome to enjoy the food and drinks.” The spokesman added that unless sales pick up, the pub will close its doors for the final time once the premises are sold.

The pub is currently open between 10am and 10pm every day, but also offers delivery. The menu consists of various dishes, including pizza, fish and chips, pasta, and burgers.

The building also boasts an open plan cellar and fully fitted commercial kitchen. Besides the bedrooms, the top floor also consists of a roof terrace, a lounge, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a separate toilet.

A sizeable car park can be found outside, which has space for up to 40 vehicles, situated either side of the main building. The front trade patio has bench seating for 36 people, while the rear one can seat 18.

A private and part sheltered enclosed service yard with access to a rear outbuilding comprising of four individual storage rooms is also found on the premises. An additional single storey side outbuilding is utilised as open plan storage space.

The building is marketed by Sidney Phillips Limited, East.
