Samsung’s Galaxy S23, S23 FE, with AI features, get massive discounts on Flipkart

Flipkart has begun teasing massive price discounts on the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23 FE smartphones as part of the ‘Big Saving Days’ sale.

According to the advertisements put out by Flipkart, the Galaxy S23 FE (review) will be available for less than Rs 39,999 and the Galaxy S23 will retail for Rs 44,999. This will make these the most affordable Samsung smartphones with Galaxy AI features. These phones also come with premium features like IP68 rating, wireless charging, and a metal-glass construction.

These prices are likely to be inclusive of additional bank discounts. Despite that, the Galaxy S23 FE, for the asking price, ends up becoming cheaper than the mid-tier Galaxy A55, which misses out on Galaxy AI features. For the uninitiated, the Galaxy S23 was launched in 2023 for Rs 74,999 and the Galaxy S23 FE was introduced later last year for Rs 49,999.

Samsung recently rolled out the OneUI 6.1 update for both these phones, enabling a bunch of Galaxy AI features including Google Circle to Search and ‘Interpreter’, the live translation feature that works even without the internet, AI-backed photo editing features, and more.

The Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23 FE, despite having similar design, are two completely different devices. Galaxy S23 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, while the Galaxy S23 FE is based on Exynos 2200. The Galaxy S23 has a smaller 6.1-inch screen, while the Galaxy S23 FE has a 6.4-inch screen, both offering up to 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy S23 also has a brighter display (1,750 nits) compared to the Galaxy S23 FE’s 1,450 nits brightness.

In terms of software, both phones currently run on Android 14-based OneUI 6.1, and both devices will receive three more major OS upgrades and four more years of security updates.

If you are looking for a compact Android flagship phone, the Galaxy S23 can be a good pick; otherwise, the Galaxy S23 FE is a good deal, especially for those who need the best possible Samsung smartphone experience at a lower price.
