Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy M13 5G and Galaxy M13 4G next week in India with up to up to 12GB of RAM and a massive 6,000mAh battery unit. Soon after that, it looks like the company is also gearing up to launch a couple of new Galaxy A series devices.
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A04s and the Galaxy A23 5G devices have been spotted on the BIS certification website hinting at an imminent launch of the device in India. Both the Galaxy A23 5G and Galaxy A04s devices were spotted on Geekbench recently. Let’s take a look at the devices.
Samsung Galaxy A23 5G, Galaxy A04s Listed on BIS Website
The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G with SM-A236E/DS model number and the Galaxy A04s with SM-A047F/DS model number have been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website in India. While the website does not reveal much, the Galaxy A series duo could launch soon as they’ve bagged multiple certifications in the past and now that the devices have secured BIS certification, we can expect an imminent launch of the phones in India.
Samsung Galaxy A23 5G, Galaxy A04s: Expected Specifications
Based on the Geekbench report, the Galaxy A23 5G will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 695 SoC chipset clock speed of 2.21GHz. The chipset will be paired with Adreno 619 GPU to handle gaming and graphics. The device will come with 4GB of RAM and will run on Android 12 out of the box, which is likely to be based on OneUI 4.1 skin.
On the other hand, the more affordable and 4G-only Galaxy A04s will run on Android 12 out of the box. The device will be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 850 processor, which is an octa-core chipset built on an 8nm fabrication process. This will be paired with ARM Mali-G52 MP1 GPU as well. The device is tipped to feature 3GB RAM but, we can expect multiple variants of the device.

Windows 11の最初のアップデートがもうすぐだ。今回は、今後のWindowsのアップデートサイクルについて考えていくことにする。 Windows 11 Ver.22H2のプレビュー版は、5月にビルド22621が出たあとは、8月2日まで小数点以下のアップデートのみが続く。なお、アスタリクスのついたビルドには、新機能を有効化したビルド「22622」（小数点以下は22621と同じ）が同時に配付されている。写真はMicrosftのフライトハブ（https://docs.microsoft.com/ja-jp/windows-insider/flight-hub/）のもの 3年ごとのメジャーアップデートから半年周期に さすがにサイクルが短すぎたか、1年になった Windows 10が登場するまで、Windowsのメジャーアップデートサイクルは3年だった。 Windows Vista以降、Windows 10が登場するまで、7、8、10と3年周期でメジャーバージョンアップがなされてきた。しかし、今の時代に3年は長すぎる。インターネットを始めとするWindowsを取り巻く状況やユーザーニーズの変化に追従しきれない可能性が高い。そもそもAndroidやiOSなど、スマートフォンの世界ではバージョンアップは1年単位である。 こうした問題に対応するため、Windows 10では2017年以降、大胆にも半年周期の機能アップデートサイクルを採用した。実際には、2015年には最初のWindows 10（TH1）とアップデート（TH2）が出ており、2016年はRS1こと「Aniversary Update」に手間取ったというのが本当のところかもしれない。 そうして半年ごとのアップデートになったWindows 10だが、その後の状況を見ると、多数の新機能を取り込んだものの、すぐに廃止というパターンが少なくなかった。どうも、Microsoftは新機能を「盛り込みすぎる」きらいがある。 たとえば、2017年のCreators Updateでは3Dを重視し、HoloLensなどの3D関連機能が複数入ったが、今ではその影もない。同じように、Windows TimeLineやCortanaなど、華々しく発表しておきながら、終息させた技術もある。とはいえ、半年のアップデートは、多数の機能を追加する「タイミング」を作っていたとも言える。 また、Windows 10リリース時の表現では、Windows 10はずっとアップデートし続けるということだったが、結局は6年で終了。昨年登場したWindows 11と交代した。Windows 10は、2025年までサポートされるが、今後大きな機能拡張は期待できないし、アップデートサイクルも1年になった。さすがに半年では、搭載すべき機能を絞り込んだり、洗練させる時間もない。CPUなどの製品サイクルを考えても1年が妥当な線なのだろう。 気になるWindows 11の今後とその次 2024年にもWindows 12が出る可能性がある？ ...
