Former Sunrise host Samantha Armytage will be making her way back to our TV screens after a special announcement during this morning’s Seven Upfront presentation.
Armytage will be joining Farmer Wants A Wife as a special guest alongside host Natalie Gruzlewski when the hit show returns in 2022.
The new season will include “Sam’s Choice”, with Sam introducing each farmer to a new lady based on her own expertise and experience.
The acclaimed journalist said she is thrilled to be joining the show.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of the show and of country people, and I know first-hand that falling in love with a farmer is just about the most wonderful thing you can do,” she said in a statement.
Seven West Media CEO James Warburton told Perth Now that he’s excited to have Armytage back on the network.
“We were always going to find that next project for Sam… she has always been a key part of the family, and we are delighted to find something we mutually want to do,” he said.
“Sam is going to be doing a cameo with Farmer — she is extremely passionate about the show, given that that is her life, that she fell in love with and married a farmer.”
Earlier this year, Armytage left our screens after eights years on Seven’s morning breakfast show.
She married farmer Richard Lavender in a New Year’s Eve ceremony last year at his lavish property in Bowral at NSW’s Southern Highlands.
Also announced during the Seven presentations was the return of My Kitchen Rules as well as two new shows, Apartment Rules and Big Brother All Stars.
Seven Network director of programming Angus Ross said next year will be even bigger than this year.
“We have spent the past two years refreshing and reinventing our content across broadcast and digital, and the results speak for themselves. Seven is back where it belongs: at number one,” Ross said in a statement.
“The return of My Kitchen Rules is particularly exciting for us and for viewers. It was the biggest show on TV for many years and we’re taking it back to its roots. We don’t want to give away too much right now, but it will be the original and the best My Kitchen Rules, reinvented for 2022.”
Also returning next year includes The Voice, Home and Away, SAS Australia, Australian Idol, Dancing With the Stars: All Stars, Australia’s Got Talent, and The Voice: Generations.Internet Explorer Channel Network
