ipl 2024: explained: why are glenn maxwell and mohammed siraj not part of rcb’s playing xi vs srh
Aiming to end a four-match losing run, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made big changes to their playing XI for the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru with talisman all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and star pacer Mohammed Siraj not part of the playing XI.
RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bowl first and announced the revamp of the playing XI. With Maxwell and Siraj missing out, Yash Dayal and Lockie Fergsuon have come into the playing XI.

Glenn Maxwell Fit To Play? RCB’s Likely Playing XI For IPL 2024 Match Against SRH
While both Maxwell and Siraj have had forgettable campaigns in the 2024 IPL so far, Faf revealed that Maxwell is not fully fit having taken a blow to the hand during their defeat to Mumbai Indians on Thursday (April 11). However, the 35-year-old’s poor returns seem to have played a part according to Faf’s statement. Meanwhile, there was no such mention for Siraj and it seems he has been dropped due to his poor form.
Maxwell has 32 runs in six innings so far in the 2024 IPL at an average of 5.33 with three ducks to his name. The Australian 2023 World Cup-winner has four wickets to his name with the ball. On the other hand, Siraj has just four wickets in six matches at an economy of 10.40 and average of 57.25.
RCB Playing XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis(c), Will Jacks, Rajat Patidar, Saurav Chauhan, Dinesh Karthik(w), Mahipal Lomror, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Reece Topley, Lockie Ferguson, Yash Dayal
