Sales of petrol and diesel in Norway decreased in September

A total of 698 million liters of petroleum products were sold in September this year. That is a decrease of 0.9% compared with September last year.

Furthermore, 81 million liters of petrol and 258 million liters of diesel were sold in September. That is a decrease of 2.4 and 0.9%, respectively, compared with the same month last year, according to figures from Statistics Norway (SSB).

In turn, sales of aircraft fuel – jet paraffin – have increased by as much as 26.5% and ended at 43 million liters. That is an increase of 9 million liters compared to September last year. Sales are still significantly below pre-corona pandemic levels.

From January to September, 2.2 million liters of auto diesel were sold, an increase of 0.7% compared with 2020, while car petrol sales have fallen by 0.4% to 748 million liters so far this year.
