Saigon exhibition spreads positivity amid pandemic distress

A painting exhibition in Saigon by four artists shows how people have been brought closer to one another by the once-in-a-lifetime pandemic.

Saigon-based art agency, Art Consulting Asia, which is holding ‘Art Rotation,’ said: "During this catastrophic time, we can still see hope and spread optimism. Never have we been able to spend so much precious time with our family and beloved ones."
The event features 32 works done on various materials by Nguyen Duc Hoa, Le Tran Thanh Thuy, Lam Son Than, and Nguyen Thu Thuy.
In this oil painting, ‘Covid the nightmare,’ Hoa uses colorful strokes to illustrate the loneliness of people amid social distancing.

Than, the youngest of the four, took a year to finish ‘In progress.’
"Letters and numbers in the painting resemble the faded boundaries between genders and ages," he explains, adding that the bright colors in his painting seek to make people feel positive so that they strive to overcome the challenges brought by the pandemic.

Thu Thuy has eight works in the exhibition. In this painting, ‘I am blonde,’ she used triangles to create a woman’s face. She says: "I think women are able to wear masks [and conceal their feelings]."
