South Australia Police are treating the death of a woman north of Adelaide yesterday as suspicious.
Police and paramedics were called to a home on Seventh Street at Gawler South at midday yesterday where they found a 63-year-old woman dead inside.
A 54-year-old woman, also from Gawler South, has been arrested for an alleged assault that happened at the home on Thursday night.
Senior Constable Rebecca Stokes said Major Crime detectives and crime scene investigators will return to the house this morning.
“The women are believed to be known to each other and this does not appear to be a random incident,” she said.
Neighbours have told ABC News the deceased woman had lived at the house for more than 20 years.
Multiple neighbours said she was a friendly woman but there was often trouble at the property with police being called on a regular basis.
Police are asking for anyone who saw or heard any activity on Seventh Street or has any dashcam or CCTV footage to contact Crime Stoppers.Internet Explorer Channel Network
