Rylan Clark-Neal returns to The One Show for the first time in months

It was a welcome return for Rylan Clark-Neal on The One Show on Friday evening (September 17) when the presenter and former The X Factor hopeful made his triumphant return to TV hosting.

The Strictly: It Takes Two presenter sat alongside former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating for the latest edition of the BBC One talk show, chatting it up with comedian Josh Widdecombe and Strictly Come Dancing judges Craig Revel-Horwood and Anton Du Beke.

Rylan kicked off the show by telling his co-host it was “so lovely to be back” after the singer told him he “looked great”. There was also an unexpected twinning moment, when Rylan realised his fetching top matched The One Show's new green sofas (to be fair, the studio did look very different the last time her was there).

“Thank you for having me back!” Rylan added, before diverting attention to the sparkly glitterball on the trophy in front of them as they celebrated the return of Strictly tomorrow night (September 18).

Twitter was flooded with sweet messages for the star, as fans were clearly thrilled to see the star back on screen.

“Welcome back. You didn’t miss much, but we’ve missed you,” one person wrote with a red heart emoji. “Nice to see @Rylan back on my telly @BBCTheOneShow @bbcstrictly,” another tweeted.

“@rylan It is wonderful to have you back on our screens. We’ve missed you. Hope you are doing okay and moving forward. One day at a time xx,” another wrote.

Rylan's co-hosting gig came a few hours after he returned to Twitter for the first time in five months.

“So…. What did I miss?” he wrote on Thursday (September 16).

Rylan took some time off from his many gigs (including hosting the UK coverage of Eurovision semi-finals) over the summer. He told fans in June that he had made the decision to 'seek help' after his marriage to Dan Neal ended.

The One Show airs on BBC One.
