Driver survives as car crushed between two trucks
MANILA, Philippines — A motorist sustained only minor injuries when his sedan was crushed between two trucks in an accident along Quirino Avenue in Manila yesterday morning.
The driver, who was not named in the report by the Manila Police District’s traffic enforcement unit, suffered scratches and was brought to the Ospital ng Maynila for treatment.
Ronald Maglaque was driving a dump truck (RND-916) when its brakes failed near Plaza Dilao at around 6:25 a.m. Maglaque’s truck crushed a hatchback (NER-8321) against another dump truck (RCT-742).
Maglaque’s truck also rear-ended another sedan (NDO-8538) driven by Crystian Francisco and a taxi (UVS-87) driven by Ronel Rosario. The two drivers were reported to be unharmed.
The road mishap caused traffic along Quirino Avenue from United Nations Avenue to Nagtahan flyover during the morning rush hour.
Police are still investigating the incident.
