Rush to rescue large whale entangled in Gold Coast shark nets

A whale has become stuck in shark nets off a popular Gold Coast beach.

It’s understood workers from SeaWorld are on their way to Snapper Rocks, on the southern end of the Gold Coast, to help free the animal.

SeaWorld workers are on their way to help the whale, who became entangled in a shark net on Wednesday morning.Source:Channel 7

It’s believed the whale is a humpback and is a few hundred metres offshore, but it’s unclear at this stage how it became entangled.
