Rulani reveals Kaizer Chiefs respect
Kaizer Chiefs are determined to spoil Mamelodi Sundowns‘ party at the FNB Stadium tonight. Kabo Yellow coach Rulani Mokwena has cautioned his players and supporters about the danger of Amakhosi.

It’s another massive night in Sundowns’ six-year dynasty. Kabo Yellow are 90 minutes away from lifting a record seventh DStv Premiership title in a row. The African Football League champions need three points against Kaizer Chiefs this evening. Speaking to his club’s media on Wednesday, coach Mokwena said Amakhosi are more than capable of causing an upset.
“Chiefs is Chiefs and we all know that in any day they can turn up. They are a big Club and they deserve incredible respect. They have a good coach and I know him personally because I learnt a lot from him. They’ve got some very good players and they are a team that is capable of beating anybody,” Mokwena said.
“What will be the message for the players? That we are playing against a very big team [Kaizer Chiefs] and our arch-rivals. We are playing an important game which requires us to go there with humility and a lot of respect. I think as a fierce competitor, Coach Cavin Johnson would like to win the game and I think he knows it’s the same with me. Furthermore, winning the title will be very sweet because it’s an important competition for us and it’s an important season,” the 37-year-old coach added.

CAVIN JOHNSON ON SUNDOWNS CLASH
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson has shared his thoughts on the game. The Johannesburg-born coach feels that his team have their tails up after last weekend’s 2-1 win over SuperSport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Johnson is also aware that Sundowns operate at higher-level than Kaizer Chiefs, and are unpredictable in terms of the team selection.
“The players are in a very good space after getting a good result, and more importantly, putting in a good performance against SuperSport. We face another Tshwane team in our home stadium in front of our amazing supporters, and we are preparing to take Sundowns ‘to the wire’,” Johnson told his club’s media.
“As the home team, it is incumbent on us to give a good account of ourselves and go all out to get the three points.
“They are a well-organised team, with some good players and a technical staff that pushes them to keep up a high standard. Having seen them play TS Galaxy on Monday, it is difficult to predict what line-up Rulani (Mokoena, Sundowns’ coach) will select to play us. He has a big, talented group of players at his disposal, although we expect some of the players who missed out against TS Galaxy to come back into the side,” the Kaizer Chiefs tactian concluded.
