As one nostalgic school time saying goes, “teamwork makes the dream work.” While it is altogether up to an individual to accomplish their goals on their own, an openness and willingness to collaborate can undoubtedly amplify a person’s success to new heights.
One such creative, well-attuned to this classic adage, is New York City’s Rocco Valentine, who has made major waves throughout the fashion industry both on his own, and through his thoughtfully executed partnerships.
While having made a name for himself in his work styling e-commerce clothing for major commercial retailers like Urban Outfitters, Valentine has likewise fostered industry-wide friendships throughout his career that have helped propel him toward future achievements. As long hours on set can be intense and gruelling, Valentine has found curating these special support systems as an integral part of making it through the day with an upbeat attitude, subsequently creating the best results possible from a shoot.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the motivation of my network and the inspiration I get from everyone I work with; art directors, hair stylist, makeup artist, models, photographers, etc.,” said Valentine. “Everyone leaves an inspiring impression on you that allows you to keep always thinking creatively and pushing forward with your work.”
Valentine’s deft ability to navigate working relationships is best embodied by his latest venture, sustainable swimsuit line Inez Valentine. Founded and run alongside his long-time friend, Bianca Ubeda, Valentine and his business partner have managed to make a major splash in the swimwear sector by bringing both of their own unique visions and blending them into one, cohesive project. Indeed, the entire ethos of Inez Valentine encourages uplifting one another, a mentality reflected deep in the brand’s very own foundations.
“We (at Inez Valentine) prioritize giving back to the community, whether it’s a portion of our sales going back to a like-minded cause, or interviewing someone’s unique story and shining a positive light on inspiring people,” reflected Valentine. “We’re more than just a swim brand, we’re a community.”
Though Valentine’s body of work certainly speaks for itself, the creative’s enthusiastic attitude toward working with others, instead of limiting himself from a place of ego, has helped take his career, both as an individual and as part of a team, to a whole new level, most certainly boding well for his future endeavours.Internet Explorer Channel Network
