Aamir Khan has begun shooting for his next film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ after taking a break, gives update about its release date
Aamir Khan had announced a break after the release of his film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ which was a remake of ‘Forest Gump’. The film didn’t meet expectations at the box office and Aamir felt he also needed some time off work to concentrate on his family and kids. He had said that he won’t begin working on any other movie for at least a year.
It’s been more than a year now and Aamir finally has begun shooting for his next ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. He revealed that to the paps and media post the screening of his production ‘Laapataa Ladies’ directed by Kiran Rao. He said, “I started shooting for my next film last week. We are trying to release it on Christmas this year. Let’s hope it comes by Christmas.”
He further added, “I have started shooting for my new film, Sitaare Zameen Par from February 1. It is the next level of Taare Zameen Par, it is like part 2. It is not the same story and the characters are also not the same. The theme is the same but the difference is, unlike Taare Zameen Par, which left you with tears, Sitaare Zameen Par will leave in laughter. Prasanna is directing it and it is an entertaining film. We are looking at the same topic but with a different perspective”
Meanwhile, Aamir is the producer on ‘Laapataa Ladies’ which is releasing on March 1. He is also producing Sunny Deol starrer ‘Lahore 1947’. Recently, reports have suggested that Preity Zinta has been cast opposite Sunny in the film. It is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.
