The top 19 New Jersey towns with the highest percentage of residents with a college degree.
A small Jersey Shore borough tops New Jersey’s list of towns with the highest percentage of residents with college degrees, new U.S. Census data shows.
More than 90% of Mantoloking residents older than 25 have an associate degree or higher, according to data from the 2022 American Community Survey recently published by the U.S. Census Bureau. In addition, 86.1% of the Ocean County town’s 329 full-time, year-round residents older than the 25 have at least a bachelor’s degree.
Millburn in Essex County just barely edges out Mantoloking for the town with the highest percentage of residents with at least a bachelor’s degree at 86.7%, but ranks second overall when associate degrees are included.

A note about the data: Tavistock, which has a population less than 10 people, was excluded from the rankings because of its unusually small population. All residents of the borough over the age of 25 have at least a bachelor’s degree.
