Strictly pro's family ask for 'speculation' over his death to stop

Robin Windsor’s family have issued a statement asking for the ‘constant media speculation’ surrounding his death to stop.

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional was found dead in a London hotel room on Monday at the age of 44, according to MailOnline.

His heartbroken family thanked the public for the ‘outpouring of love’ and tributes following his death but said they ‘need time to process’ their grief and will share more information in due course.

The statement read: ‘We would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and celebration of our beloved Robin.

‘While we understand that there is a huge public and media interest around his passing, we as a family need time to process our shock and grief.

‘We ask for the needs of our family and friends to be taken into consideration and for our privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We would ask that the constant media speculation stop. As we have further information we will share a statement in due course.’

The dancer first appeared on the BBC show in 2010 and was partnered with celebrities including Patsy Kensit and Deborah Meaden as well as This Morning’s Alison Hammond whom he danced with in the 2015 Christmas Special.

When news of his death broke, dozens of people paid tribute to the dancer, including Strictly judge Shirley Ballas who said that Robin was ‘kind, gracious, gentle and extremely hard working.’
