THE Remainers will never give up, will they?

Boris Johnson is the architect of his own disastrous Partygate troubles and the ­public is rightly furious.

But be in no doubt where much of the hate being hurled at the PM comes from.

The still well-orchestrated Remain camp senses a prize opportunity to compromise or reverse Brexit.

Diehard EU-loving peers Michael Heseltine and Andrew Adonis, two of the most tragic Brexit Derangement Syndrome sufferers, let the truth slip.

Hezza admits toppling Boris would be a golden chance to rethink Brexit, probably via a second referendum.

Adonis simply says: “If Boris goes, Brexit goes.”

Neither apparently considers it a problem to legislate for a new vote, persuade the electorate we should apply to REJOIN the EU under punitive new terms and ­voluntarily tear the country apart by annulling the 2016 result.

But that’s not our point.

It’s that regardless of the source of the Partygate revelations — and we do not downplay their hypocrisy or seriousness — they have given Remainer politicians and their media allies a flamethrower to torch Boris and possibly his party.

Some just want revenge.

Others imagine the PM is all that keeps Brexit alive.

None can quite believe their luck.

The timing is perfect.

Leading Labour now is Keir Starmer, architect of the second referendum they wanted.

If they can oust Boris, then the Tories, what might Prime Minister Starmer do for them?

He claims Brexit is a dead issue. Is it hell.

Labour admits it wants to improve our EU deal. That can only mean ­surrendering our full independence.

Yes, Boris has made his own mess.

But don’t imagine for a moment that the choreographed rage from Labour, amplified to a deafening roar by a Remainer media and left-wing Twitter, is motivated solely by glasses of wine in Downing Street.

Millions of others did, but have already returned.

Why should Whitehall lag behind?

Civil servants should set an example. Yet even at the Business Department half the staff have yet to turn up.

Yes, some people can do the basics of their jobs at home.

But the best quality mostly comes via face-to-face teamwork.

That is better for Britain — plus those whose livelihoods rely on commuters.

Let’s get on with it.
