Residents of blockaded areas of Da Nang wait for COVID-19 tests despite rain

Thousands of people in novel coronavirus (COVID-19) hotspot areas locked down in Da Nang patiently waited to take COVID-19 tests on July 31, despite heavy rain hitting the central city.

The Da Nang health sector and authorities in Da Nang inform households in blockaded areas about the need to prepare for the implementation of mass testing to detect the COVID-19 cases. Pictured are dozens of health workers as they arrive at the locked down areas.

The blockaded areas throughout Hai Chau district contain roughly 600 households, making up approximately 3,000 people. Pictured are residents as they wait patiently for their turn to take a test whilst keeping a safe distance in line with regulations.

Despite the arrival of rain, many people attend the Nguyen Hue Secondary School in order to have their samples taken to check for signs of SARS-CoV-2.

Once at the sampling area, people are required to fill in medical declarations, whilst medical workers carefully instruct local people to tables in order to take samples of throat fluids and blood
