MANILA, Philippines: The 24-member Senate wrapped up its deliberations on the proposed P5.768 trillion national expenditure for 2024 early Tuesday.
Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri said that after the debates, which ended at 4:50 a.m., the Senate finance committee, headed by Sen. Jun Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, will introduce amendments to the General Appropriations Bill (GAB).
The Senate will then vote on its approval for the second and third reading. After which both the Senate and the House of Representatives will meet at the bicameral conference to reconcile the disagreeing provisions of their version of the proposed 2024 national budget.
The reconciled and final version of the GAB has to be ratified separately by the Senate and House before transmitting it to the Palace for the President’s review and approval.
