Sophie spoke of how blessed she felt being able to portray a pregnant woman on the show while speaking to 7Entertainment this month.

‘I feel quite blessed being able to practise all of the pregnancy things without the actual pregnancy,’ she said.

‘You know, Ziggy got everything – she got nausea, fatigue, mood swings, pain, Braxton Hicks, all that sort of stuff.’

She continued: ‘Going through all of that, especially with your real-life partner, actually brings up a lot of conversation that I don’t think a lot of people would have unless they are literally carrying a fake pregnancy belly around.’

Sophie and her boyfriend Patrick play Dean Thompson and Ziggy Astoni on-screen and also enjoy an off-screen romance.

Sophie recently revealed how her and Patrick’s first date was not as romantic as she had hoped.

She had been rushed to hospital due to an endometriosis flare-up so was in excruciating pain when they went for dinner at Newtown burger joint Mary’s.

She felt so bad she was forced to sit on the footpath at one stage.

‘I said, ‘I have to sit down, right now.’ And [Patrick] was like, ‘Sophie, we’re on King Street, you can’t sit down!” she recalled.

‘So I was sitting in a laneway, and I rang my mum and I was like, ‘Mum, I’ve got to go to hospital, it’s so bad, I don’t have enough painkillers.’

‘My sister was giving me all this advice as well, and he’d never seen anything like that before, the poor guy!’

She said that despite the fact Patrick ‘went white’, he did everything he could to support her, which was a major green flag.
