Record-breaking Danny Care makes ‘easy decision’ on Harlequins future
Harlequins-Danny-Care
Harlequins have confirmed that club legend Danny Care has signed a new contract to remain at the Premiership side.
The veteran scrum-half extends his stay at Quins into his 19th season having racked up a record 374 first-team appearances.
The 37-year-old continues to be a key member of the side, playing 16 of their 23 matches across the Investec Champions Cup and Premiership this season.
“Easy decision”
It was reported that Care had offers from French clubs on the table but the experienced half-back says that in the end it was an easy decision to stay at Harlequins.
“I’m excited to extend my contract with Quins for my 19th season at the club. This is my home, I love everything about it, the rugby we play, our amazing fans, and the memories we have made together,” he said in a club statement.
“It was an easy decision to sign the contract, we have a great group of lads who I love playing with, and we’re building something very special. We have the best fans in the world, and I can’t wait to pull on the Quarters for another season and run out in front of a packed Stoop.”

Care has signed a one-year extension with the side he joined from Leeds back in 2006.
His deal will see him extend his record as Harlequins’ most-capped player, having played more than 300 times. He will look to add to his try-scoring tally, being the only player to score more than 100 tries in the Quarters.
He has been central to three of Harlequins’ most memorable matches starting the 2011 Challenge Cup win over Stade Francais alongside the Premiership titles in 2012 and 2021.

He also won three Six Nations, including a Grand Slam in 2016, and represented England at the 2015 and 2023 Rugby World Cups.
“Danny has been an incredible servant to our Club and a true Harlequin, leading from the front with his exceptional professionalism, hard work, and determination to succeed,” director of rugby Billy Millard added.
“We love having Danny in our squad, he’s a great character and his infectious energy, alongside his experience, means he’s a hugely popular and important member of our Quins DNA.”
