RCMP are searching for two suspects in connection with an armed robbery reported at a Ponoka home.
Ponoka RCMP are searching for two suspects who attempted to steal a pet in an armed robbery.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on July 30, RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at a home in Ponoka, about 90 km south of Edmonton, Mounties said in a Thursday news release.
The homeowner reported that an unknown male and female, who entered the residence brandishing a machete and baseball bat, unsuccessfully attempted to steal the family dog before fleeing the scene in a silver hatchback, RCMP added.
Mounties describe the male suspect as standing about six-feet tall, wearing a black leather jacket, black bandana, grey undershirt, dark blue jeans and sneakers with yellow bottoms. The male suspect, who reportedly carried the machete, also wore black gloves, a grey hat and tinted glasses.
The female suspect stands about five-feet tall, has blond hair and was wearing blue jeans, a red bandana and an oversized blue hoodie, Mounties said.
Mounties ask anyone with information regarding the armed robbery to call Ponoka RCMP at 403-783-4471 or contact local police. Tipsters seeking anonymity can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip online at www.p3tips.com.
