Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jadeveon Clowney secured a $750,000 incentive bonus from his contract after getting a sack on Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph in the first half of Saturday’s Week 18 matchup at M&T Bank Stadium.
Clowney needed nine sacks to secure the bonus, and his sack in Saturday’s game puts him at 9.5 sacks on the season.
Clowney went into the season finale having earned a $1 million bonus for reaching seven sacks this year. With the sack on Rudolph, he has now totaled $1.75 million in incentives for the season on top of his base one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Ravens.
The Ravens already secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a 13-3 record, as many Baltimore starters sat out Saturday’s game, including Lamar Jackson. However, Clowney was still active and made sure to get one more big paycheck for the year.
In addition to the 9.5 sacks, Clowney also five passes defended, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 39 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 18 quarterback hits in 16 games.
