Kerala BJP perturbed over reports of nexus with Left to ‘settle’ controversial cases

BJP workers in Kerala are elated over the response Prime Minister Narendra Modi received during his recent visit to Kerala. In the same vein, the party workers and sympathizers in the state are disappointed over reports of the alleged nexus between the BJP and the CPI(M).

The reports alleging that case after case against state chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his family members and the CPI-M leaders are being ‘settled’ by the leaders of the BJP and the CPI-M through middlemen make them despondent.

A large number of BJP workers and sympathisers are sore over this alleged unholy nexus between BJP and CPI-M in compromising cases, including gold smuggling and SNC Lavlin. They are asking how such a compromise has been entered into by the party leadership, without considering the sentiments of the BJP workers, party sources said.

Not only the BJP workers, the general public are also began to question the ‘compromise politics’ of the BJP and CPI-M .They began to ask -why didn’t the probe agencies bring the chief minister, his family members and other CPI-M leaders , who are facing serious allegations of corruption, under their scrutiny .

They point out that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) didn’t initiate a probe against the alleged transactions between the Exalogic Solutions and the CMRL and also related to Rs.135 crore that have been handed over to the accounts of several political leaders by the CMRL.

Going by the Karnataka High Court order in Veena Vijayan’s petition , one can understand that the ED was aware of these transactions in January 2021 itself . But, they did nothing to bring the wrong doers before the law for about three years

It is a fact that the Central probe agencies didn’t conduct even a preliminary enquiry against the Chief Minister and his family based on the serious charges levelled against them by Swapna Suresh, the accused in the gold smuggling case.

Anguished over the alleged ‘ protection ’ given by the BJP leaders and Central government to chief minister Vijayan, his family and CPI-M leaders who are facing corruption charges ,from the scrutiny of the Central probe agencies, an RSS worker in Thalassery asked ‘ Why BJP and its government at the Centre are ‘protecting ‘Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI-M leaders from the probe agencies,Is it a reward for killing our workers by CPI-M men . Won’t BJP/ RSS leaders know who killed our Vadikkal Ramakrishnan. Jayakrishnan master, Panninnoor Chandran , Kathiroor Manoj and others, he asked.

Prime Minister Modi in his visit in Kerala in January , In an oblique reference to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s office, said that everyone knew which office was behind the gold smuggling and that there was no need to hide it from anyone.Responding to this , Congress Kerala chief K Sudhakaran said that instead of ordering a probe into the serious allegations against the Chief Minister’s office, Prime Minister Modi is protecting Pinarayi Vijayan like the apple of his eye.

The contents in the Karnataka High Court verdict in the petition filed by Veena Vijayan points to the fact that Enforcement Directorate (ED) was aware of the transactions between the company owned by chief minister Vijayan’s daughter Veena Vijayan(Veena T), Exalogic Solutions and Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited(CMRL) in January 2021 itself, but the ED has not made any serious probe on it ? Why didn’t the ED initiate a probe against the alleged transactions between the Exalogic Solutions and the CMRL It was only after Shone George approached the Kerala High Court, that the Centre government ordered a SFIO probe into the allegations levelled against the firm Exalogic Solutions and the CMRL.

Questioning the Central probe agencies sparing Pinarayi Vijayan, his family and CPI-M leaders from legal scrutiny on the allegation levelled against them, a college professor in Kozhikode said by ‘settling’ corruption cases against the chief minister and others through political compromise, the BJP government at the Centre has demonstrated the hollowness of its fight against corruption.

A BJP worker in Kozhikode asked whether it is the duty of the BJP and the Centre government to protect Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter and the CPI-M leaders who are neck deep in corruption.

A BJP worker in Kozhikode said till the Karnataka High court verdict in Veena’s petition seeking to quash the SFIO probe, I believed that the ‘BJP-CPI-M nexus’ was a story created by the Congress. Now after the Karnataka High court order, I believe there is substance in the allegation, However, he said the BJP leadership can do justice to the people of Kerala by allowing the Central agencies to conduct a free and fair probe in all cases , including the gold smuggling case , and can ensure that the probes are reaching its logical conclusion.
