An Alabama woman called 911 to report a bogus burglary at her home because she was scared of “bad weather,” according to the police.
Kelley Giniebra, 39, called the emergency dispatch center in her hometown of Dothan on Jan. 9, claiming that there was a burglary in progress at her home, the Dothan Police Department revealed in a press release Thursday.
When officers arrived at the woman’s house on Johnson Circle, they quickly determined that no break-in took place.
“Ginibera had reported that in order to get officers to respond to her residence quicker due to her being scared of the bad weather,” police said.
Dothan — a city of 71,000 located about 100 miles southwest of Montgomery — saw some “heavy intensity rain” on the day of the incident, according to information from world-weather.info.
