Monica Lewinsky is the new face of US fashion brand Reformation and is taking part in its US voting campaign, You’ve Got the Power.

The activist and writer is also involved with Vote.org, which aims to raise awareness of voting rights. Many voters have expressed dissatisfaction with both Joe Biden and the likely Republican nominee, Donald Trump, and the campaign is trying to rally voters to take action and have their voices heard at the elections in November.

In the new campaign, Lewinsky wore an array of blazers, skirts and dresses for the shoot.

“Voting is using our voice to be heard and it’s the most defining – and powerful – aspect of democracy,” Ms Lewinsky told Variety.

She added: “Voting is always important but the stakes are especially high this year with voter frustration and apathy threatening to meaningfully impact turnout. I’m excited and grateful to be working with Reformation to remind people to register, use their voice and vote! A Ref woman is an empowered woman – and an empowered woman uses her voice.”

The campaign organisers have created a website to help people gain a good understanding of all voter information. Details include the final date they can register to vote and information about local ballots.

Proceeds from You’ve Got the Power sweatshirt purchases will be donated to the non-profit Vote.org.

Ms Lewinsky has been involved in the political conversation throughout her adult life. She was instantly propelled into the spotlight in the 1990s after it emerged that she had a sexual relationship with then-sitting president Bill Clinton.

She’s since referred to herself as “patient zero”, explaining that the trial by fire of having her personal life made public was incredibly difficult at the time.

In recent years, she’s emerged as a campaigner against online harassment.

In light of the new partnership, a spokesperson for Reformation said: “Monica’s been empowering women to use their voices and feel powerful for a long time, so it just makes sense that she’d help us do the same.”

“And while great clothes won’t fix everything, putting them on and going to the polls is a pretty good place to start.”
