Qu’est-ce qu’Atos ?

Fleuron des entreprises françaises, Atos naît en 1997 de la fusion de deux entreprises de services informatiques, Axime et Sligos. Ses activités sont nombreuses : cybersécurité, intelligence artificielle, gestion de serveurs, informatique quantique…

Avec un chiffre d’affaires de près de 11 milliards d’euros en 2023, la firme emploie quelque 110 000 personnes et se classe dans le top 10 mondial des entreprises de services du numérique.

Qui possède Atos ?

Les actionnaires d’Atos sont nombreux. Les principaux :

  • OnePoint Technology, un groupe français, actionnaire largement majoritaire avec 11 % du capital
  • Siemens, le groupe allemand de l’industrie et de l’énergie possédant 4 % du capital
  • Ou encore Atos Origin, un groupe d’employés actionnaires

Pourquoi Atos va mal ?

Malgré sa place au CAC 40, le groupe français connaît des difficultés économiques croissantes depuis la montée des leaders américains du web : Microsoft, Amazon ou Google.

Mais Atos a également souffert d’une crise de gouvernance avec pas moins de six patrons différents en six ans. Le groupe doit désormais faire face à une dette de près de 5 milliards d’euros, qu’elle doit commencer à rembourser fin 2024.

Quel est l’avenir d’Atos ?

Qui pour reprendre Atos ? Ce vendredi 3 mai marque la date butoir pour déposer une offre de reprise.

Le milliardaire tchèque Daniel Kretinsky devrait formuler une offre pour reprendre le groupe. Il serait en effet dans une position opportune, ayant les faveurs du ministre de l’Économie ainsi que des créanciers du groupe, selon Forbes.

Mais le Tchèque fait face à un autre candidat déjà bien établi, David Layani (président de Onepoint), qui avec le soutien du financier Walter Butler, n’a jamais caché son ambition de s’emparer de l’ensemble du groupe.

De son côté, Bruno Le Maire a lui annoncé que l’État comptait acquérir « toutes les activités souveraines » d’Atos, afin d’éviter que celles-ci, stratégiques pour la France, « passent dans les mains d’acteurs étrangers ».
