Authorities have issued a watch and act warning for a “large fast-moving fire” burning 120km northwest of Brisbane.
The Queensland Fire Emergency Service said the blaze was travelling from Gregors Creek, north of Toogoolawah, towards Richter Road with residents in the area told to prepare to leave.
“Conditions could get worse quickly,” the warning declared.
“Firefighters are working to contain the fire, however you should not expect a firefighter at your door. Firefighting aircraft may assist ground crews.”
