Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the two resorts are isolated and quite far from residential areas. The resorts will have their staff vaccinated against Covid-19, besides employing other pandemic prevention measures.
Nguyen Van, Deputy Director of Quang Nam Department of Health, said the plan to welcome international visitors has been carefully prepared by the province.
There will be no stopping between the airport and the resorts, and the pandemic prevention measures at the resorts will be as strict as at quarantine centers, Van said.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung earlier this week had discussed with Quang Nam authorities about reopening international tourism activities from July 2021, starting with beach tourism and golf tourism for visitors from South Korea.
The ministry found that Quang Nam, home to famous ancient town Hoi An, can meet the requirements of transport infrastructure, tourism services as well as health safety to be a pilot area.
It has asked Quang Nam to review facilities, equipment and human resources to confirm that it is ready for the plan.
International visitors to Vietnam only reached 3.7 million in 2020, a decrease of 80 percent compared to 2019.
Vietnam has stopped all international commercial flights from April 2020, and international visitors who came to the country have been mainly experts, high-tech workers and investors.
