Pro-Palestinian encampment set up at UBC's campus
We aren’t here in solidarity with what’s going on in Gaza. We also are calling for the university to condemn the scholastic genocide that is happening and conduct an academic. Universities that are also complicit in the genocide and occupation and lastly or we’re also calling for the university to keep off South campus. It’s been there’s been a lot of police presence and for in order for students and anyone using the campus facilities and spaces it should be a safe space. And we’re also really want to iterate last and like most importantly that we want the university to support Palestinian rights to resistance and right to return. So I heard a lot of the event through networks are supporting human rights and human rights and Palestinian human rights. And I came here to bring up stories from my knowledge about living there and about what my family is going through right now in desert. We as Canadians have arrived to demonstrate peacefully as long as we do that. Make any. As there is no violence we have, we have the right to protest peacefully in matters that we believe in, we have the freedom of speech is not taken away from us and we are going to use this this slide to raise awareness.
