Pressure on Koeman increases after new downer Barcelona: 1-1 against Granada

Pressure on Koeman increases after new downer Barcelona: 1-1 against Granada

Koeman tried to intervene by bringing in Luuk de Jong as striker, which moved Memphis Depay to the left wing. But Barcelona also struggled to create opportunities in the second half.

long strokes

So difficult that Koeman took winger Yusuf Demir to the side and brought in his tall defender Gerard Piqué as an extra battering ram next to Luuk de Jong. Only to find redemption through long strokes and many crosses, in the Camp Nou that not so long ago marveled at the tiki-taka of Xavi, Messi and Iniesta.

Ten minutes before the end, the ball suddenly fell on Luuk de Jong’s head, about four meters from the goal, but the striker aimed over. A defeat was imminent, at home and against a team that had not yet won in La Liga.

Araujo hits the mark

But that was averted at the last minute, in a way befitting Barcelona’s game. Gavi once again threw the ball in front of the goal, where Ronald Araujo had already reported himself. The Uruguayan center defender did what Luuk de Jong had failed to do: hit the head from close range.
