Wolverhampton Wanderers are not predicted to come away from Elland Road with much by two prominent Premier League pundits.
Leeds United, however, sit 16th in that same form table and a marginally worse 17th place in the actual league table, having won just once all season against Watford.
They also continue to struggle through an injury crisis that has robbed them of key pieces from the spine of their squad, such as England internationals Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford.
But, despite acknowledging the good form, Mark Lawrenson predicts it will be all even in Yorkshire.
” Wolves are on a roll,” he told BBC Sport, “with four wins in their past five games, and they are scoring some goals now too.
“Meanwhile, Leeds lost again last week, at Southampton. They were without Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha, and Patrick Bamford at St Mary’s and Raphinha might be the only one of that trio who plays here.
“This is a tricky time for Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, but I think they will find some form soon – it might not happen until Phillips and Bamford are back, though.
“Wolves staged a great comeback against Aston Villa last weekend in the Premier League,” Merson told sportskeeda.
“They were never in the game for 80 minutes or so, but they came back to win the derby 3-2 with three quick-fire goals.
“Leeds United, on the other hand, disappointed me against Southampton and didn’t even have a shot on target.
“This is a big game for both teams, but I just get the feeling that Leeds will nick this one.
“They are a different team at home and will look to win their second Premier League game of the season after comfortably beating Watford earlier this month.”
