Predators' Injury Could Benefit Former Oilers Star
EDMONTON — The Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks find themselves in a tight series.
The first round series is presently 2-1 for the Canucks, with the fourth game slated for tomorrow afternoon in Nashville. After dropping the second game to the Predators by a 4-1 score, they made history by winning 2-1 in Game three while only firing 12 pucks on net.
However, there was an unfortunate injury that occurred during Game three that could have some lasting impacts on the Predators team. Young defenseman Spencer Stastney was hit into the boards head first by Canucks forward Dakota Joshua.
The Predators got an update on his condition today – and found out that he is considered out “week-to-week”. This is a terrible blow for him, but it could spell an opportunity for a former Edmonton Oilers player.
Tyson Barrie has been on quite the streak this season – a streak of being a healthy scratch. He’s been a healthy scratch for all three playoff games to this point, after being a healthy scratch for the last nine games of the regular season.

Barrie brings a lot of offensive tools that could greatly help his team during their post season run. To beat the Canucks, they are going to need all of the help that they can get. While he was with the Oilers he was able to contribute six points over 20 games during the playoffs.
For Barrie’s sake, let’s hope that he can provide some stability for the team and help them win some games. At least until Stastney can be re-inserted into the lineup.
