‘Precursor to Victory in 2024’: African-American Singer Mary Millben Praises PM Modi after Hattrick Election Win
Renowned African-American singer Mary Millben praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the state legislative elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on Sunday. The BJP appeared dominant in the elections which were dubbed as semi-finals ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“Today’s election results in India, the BJP winning the heartland states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, is a precursor to a strong victory for PM Narendra Modi in 2024,” Millben said in a social media post on social media site X (formerly Twitter).
“He is the ‘India First’ candidate and the best leader for the US-India relationship,” the singer said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the BJP workers from the party headquarters himself said that Sunday’s hattrick of victories laid the foundation of a BJP Lok Sabha election victory hattrick at the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“Some people are already saying our hat-trick in the states is a guarantee of a hattrick in the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. The results show popular support for our battle against corruption. Voters have delivered a warning to these parties involved in corruption to mend their ways or people will finish them off,” PM Modi said after BJP won the elections in the three states with huge margins.
Rivals, the Indian National Congress, won in Telangana, becoming the first and oldest national party to form the government in the youngest state of India. Telangana was formed in June 2014 and has elected Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) in the first two elections since its formation in 2014.
Millben, a strong supporter of Prime Minister Modi, on several occasions said that India is headed in the right direction under the leadership of Narendra Modi. She has backed steps taken by India under PM Modi on the global stage and during 2023 G20 New Delhi, Millben lauded his role as G20 chair and host when India inducted the African Union as full-time member of the G20 group of nations.
She has also lauded PM Modi for his efforts to bring the Global South into the mainstream and making them a major part of global policymaking. “I applaud Prime Minister Modi’s proposal to include the African Union as a full member of the G20. The global south can now shape policies impacting our world,” the singer said earlier this year.
The 41-year-old singer has gained massive popularity in India for her rendition of the National Anthem, the Jana Gana Mana, and religious hymn ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’. She also sang the National Anthem, the Jana Gana Mana, at an event hosted by the Indian diaspora in June in Washington DC at an event during PM Modi’s state visit to the US.News Related
