Namibian cricketer Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton has set a new world record for the fastest T20I century, requiring just 33 balls to bring up a ton on Tuesday.
Loftie-Eaton’s eventual 101 off 36 deliveries lifted Namibia to a 20-run victory over Nepal in the opening match of the tri-nation series at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal.
Namibia won the toss and elected to bat before Loftie-Eaton came in at No.5 with his team sitting at 3-62 in the 11th over.

He reached his 50 in just 18 balls having struck two sixes and a four in the first six deliveries.
The 22-year-old proceeded to blast 11 fours and eight sixes before he was caught.
His tally of 92 runs scored in boundaries was also the most by a batter in a T20I.
During the stand, Loftie-Eaton surpassed the previous record set by a member of his opposition, Kushal Malla, who scored a 34-ball century against Mongolia at the Men’s Asian Games last September.

Malla scored 32 for Nepal as the nation failed to chase down Namibia’s total of 4-206 on Tuesday.
Loftie-Eaton took the player of the match honors having also taken two wickets to finish with bowling figures of 2-29 from his three overs.
West Indies star Chris Gayle’s 30-ball century for Royal Challengers Bangalore in a 2013 Indian Premier League match against Pune Warriors remains the overall record for the format, but wasn’t an international.
